Dear Prospective BiomedRAP/CD-BioRAP student:
Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2010 Biomedical Research Apprenticeship Program (BioMedRAP) and the NSF REU funded, Cellular and Developmental Biology Research Apprenticeship Program(CD-BioRAP) at Washington University in St. Louis. BioMedRAP and CD-BioRAP APPLICATION DEADLINE IS 12:00 MIDNIGHT JANUARY 31, 2010. The 2010 programs will covene the last week in May through the first week in August.
Washington University is recognized as a preeminent research and educational institution. The University provides education, leadership and an environment that future scientists and clinicians need as they prepare to solve emerging biological problems. The BioMedRAP and CD-BioRAP are designed to recruit exceptional students interested in careers in biological and biomedical sciences with an intensive 10-week laboratory experience at one of the top research institutions in the nation. Participants will engage in an independent research project under the mentorship of faculty at Washington University in St. Louis. Students who have had prior research experience and are currently enrolled in a U.S. undergraduate program are encouraged to apply to BioMedRAP and CD-BioRAP. Those who do not have prior research experience or who is interested in non-mammalian research are encouraged to apply for CD-BioRAP.
The stipend for the 2010 program is very competitive and is quite ample to sustain you while in St. Louis. We provide housing, travel and many meals throughout the summer. Program activities include seminars, individualized career counseling, workshops on applying to Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. programs, social activities and much more. The program will conclude with a symposium featuring research presentations by participants.
